This LJ is only used to chat with CMU people, which is why it is oriented mostly in that direction. =)
I'm CMU at CIT 2009, in the Electric and Computer Engineering program. It's very nice, I got waitlisted for compsci, but I think I like ECE better anyways.
I'm a tech person, but I'm pretty well rounded if not physically than mentally. I love hiking, outside anything. I fenced up until about this November where I stopped due to time contraints, been lifting every since but will get to fencing again I hope as soon as AP's are over. I'm pretty sure I'll do it as a club sport at CMU. Don't think I'll have time for varsity competitions in track or whatnot, even if I'm good enough, which I'm probably not. (Maybe sprint, after a couple years training, :-p) No time anyways, I might double major into to CS school, will need to see. Also I play the violin, but just a bit. Don't take lessons this year, but pick it up once in a while and play something pretty. I'm not terribly good, but I get by fine. I love Paganini's Sonata in Am, as well as Vocalise (Rachmaninoff). There ends my extensive knowledge of composition. I'm all into Russian bard music, in a non-hippy but nostalgic kind of way, it's beautiful music if you know the language, the words are the most important in my opinion, it's sung with a guitar. I have two friends that are incredible at it, and I've been learning myself but I just need to get the football out of my voicebox and it'll make things easier. baby steps. I'm Russian by the way, the Jewish kind. :-D. I guess I identify with that a lot. Only half of my friends are American. What else? AIM= fetyk
